W roku 2009 nakładem wytwórni Ruby Flower ukazała się płyta firmowana przez konstelację The MacroQuarktet złożoną z czwórki wyjątkowo kreatywnych muzyków, stanowiących dziś jeden z najsilniejszych filarów światowego jazzu: trębaczy Dave'a Ballou i Herba Robertsona mających na koncie współpracę z takimi tuzami jak Tim Berne, John Zorn, Paul Motian czy Bill Frisell, oraz znanego później z płyt m.in. Marca Coplanda, Yeleny Eckemoff oraz Kwintetu Paula Shaw kontrabasisty Drew Gressa i perkusisty Toma Raineya.
Album zatytułowany "Each Part The Whole" stanowił zapis części koncertu jaki odbył się w nowojorskim klubie Stone 30 czerwca 2007 roku i okazał się jedną z najciekawszych free jazzowych płyt dekady.
W roku 2020 postanowiono odświeżyć ten materiał i opublikować cały złożony z dwóch setów koncert w formie 2-płytowego albumu "The Complete Night - Live at the Stone NYC", który ukazał się nakładem niezależnej wytwórni Out Of Your Head Records.
Mimo iż materiał pochodzi sprzed 13 lat, nadal brzmi świeżo i odkrywczo, a zawarte na drugim dysku utwory opublikowane są po raz pierwszy.
Otwarte, abstrakcyjne formy budowane przez wyjątkowych improwizatorów i niezwykła atmosfera koncertu po 13 latach wciąż robią ogromne wrażenie.
Album ukazał się 1 maja 2020.

The MacroQuarktet: To those familiar with the NYC downtown music scene of the 80s and 90s, trumpeters Herb Robertson and Dave Ballou need no introduction. Having collaborated with the likes of Tim Berne, John Zorn, Paul Motian, Bill Frisell, Dewey Redman, and countless others, both were at the center of what was one of the most formative eras for experimental and improvised music to date. In performance, the most common meeting place for trumpet players is within the section of a big band or large ensemble, and together Robertson and Ballou have performed in the Satoko Fuji Orchestra and Orange Then Blue. However, after the recording session for Satoko Fuji’s Undulation Herb and Dave identified it as essential to play together in a smaller format. In a quartet (with the addition of Drew Gress on bass and Tom Rainey on drums) each of their unique approaches to both improvisation and the trumpet would be the central focus, and highlighted in a way not possible in a large ensemble. Thus The MacroQuarktet (a portmanteau combining both the whole view as well as the detailed) was formed. "The Complete Night" documenting their entire first performance from The Stone on June 30, 2007.
Disc One is a reissue of "Each Part Whole" (though no longer using that album title), originally released on the Ruby Flower record label in 2009. "Each Part Whole" is now out of print and does not appear on any streaming platform. Disc Two is the second set and released here for the first time. This new release on Out Of Your Head Records assumes the title "The Complete Night: Live at the Stone NYC". It will be released on Friday May 1, 2020 both digitally and as a double disc CD. This release serves as both a historical reissue of an underground classic, as well as the release of an additional disc that is sure to become a classic in the improvised music community. Though recorded in 2007, both discs sound as fresh and revolutionary today as they did when documented.
