Na 16 kwietnia wytwórnia JazzHausMusik z Kolonii zapowiada aż pięć nowych albumów:

Urodzony w 1953 roku Georg Ruby to dziś jeden z najbardziej znanych europejskich pianistów jazzowych. Jest mistrzem wolnej formy i muzykiem obdarzonym niezwykłą wyobraźnią improwizacyjną, a także cenionym kompozytorem i aranżerem oraz założycielem wytwórni płytowej JazzHaus Musik. Dał się poznać jako znakomity artysta doskonale potrafiący odnaleźć się w rozmaitych konfiguracjach, od realizacji solowych (albumy "Personal Songbook", 2009, "Windmills", 2017), duetu ("Deuxieme Bureau" - Michelem Pilzem, 2011), poprzez jazzowe tria, kwartety (Sebastian Buscher "Come Daylight", 2013; "Rimbaud #4" - Pilz / Ruby / Weber / Brochier, 2015) a na big bandzie zakończywszy.
Jednym z projektów wszechstronnego niemieckiego artysty jest Village Zone. Już w roku 2009 ukazała się płyta firmowana tą nazwą płyta "Deconstruction Service", wypełniona utworami wybranymi z repertuaru aktorki, piosenkarki i pisarki Hildegard Knef.
Nowa odsłona projektu to trio tworzone przez Georga Ruby z kontrabasistą Stephanem Goldbachem i perkusistą Danielem "D-Flat" Weberem.
Pierwszego z muzyków pamiętamy z odkrywczego albumu "LouLou und die Heerscharen der Verfluchten" (2017) nagranego z sopranistką Lisą Ströckens, a będącego niekonwencjonalnym projektem łączącym operowy śpiew z partiami kontrabasu.
Z kolei kreatywny szwajcarski perkusista Daniel "D-Flat" Weber wraz z formacją Krassport poruszył europejskie środowisko jazzowe projektem "The Planets - Discovering Gustav Holst" (2012) biorąc "na warsztat" suitę ''Planety'' Gustava Holsta. Później słyszeliśmy go na wspomnianym wcześniej albumie "Come Daylight" (2013), saksofonisty Sebastiana Buschera, w roku 2015 w ramach konstelacji: Pilz / Ruby / Weber / Brochier, na również wymienionym wcześniej albumie, wypełnionym muzycznymi impresjami opartymi na wierszach Arthura Rimbaud ("Rimbaud #4"), a rok 2017 przyniósł autorski album niepokornego perkusisty: "Hebelwirkung" wydany pod nazwą własnej formacji Webers Hebel.
Program albumu Georga Ruby "Village Zone", nagranego wraz z tą dwójką otwartych na rozmaite przedsięwzięcia artystów, przynosi cztery wspólne kompozycje trójki muzyków, trzy utwory lidera, przygotowany przez Webera temat "Dr. G.s Krautsuppe", oraz znakomite opracowanie legendarnej kompozycji Ornette Colemana: "Lonely Woman".

Georg Ruby, Stephan Goldbach and Daniel "D-Flat" Weber unmistakably have two particular likings: on the one hand side an unconditional agreement transposing their original compositions way beyond the hierarchy of long outdated concepts of the piano trio; on the other hand the joy of free, spontaneous improvisation. In an uncompromising way the trio dedicates itself to the principle of "Instant Composing", which means spontaneously developed improvisations on stage as well as in studio situations without any guideline or prior agreement.
Listening to the music the concept of VILLAGE ZONE leaves surprising traces: it takes away the piano's claim to lead within the band's structure resulting in sound and improvisation lines that let the VILLAGE ZONE trio appear as just one single body of sound, even more one single instrument. That makes it possible to hear which musician is acting as which part of any time. The original preparation of the drum set and the piano's and the bass' strings lead to an extraodrdinary colourfulness of the band's sound, it even more gives the impression of listening to four or five musicians instead of only one trio.
Georg Ruby, a.o., is to be heard solo as well as in a duo together with the legendary Luxembourgian bass clarinet player Miche Pilz. Ruby is co-founder of the "Stadtgarten" project in Cologne and he is running the Cologne label JazzHausMusik for many, many years now. His CD release "Deuxieme Bureau" - featuring Michel Pilz - has been awarded "Album Of The Year" by the jazz gazette New York City Jazz Record.
Stephan Goldbach is in demand as solo player was well in jazz as in improvisation music, Neue Musik and chamber music. His latest CD release "LouLou und die Heerscharen der Verfluchten" has become centre of interest of the media.
Daniel "D-Flat" Weber - with his experimental group "Krassport" - currently is bearer of the "Grand Prix" and "Prix de Public" of the jazz festival "Tremplin Jazz d'Avignon".
